A total of 96,315 Novosibirsk residents are under oncologists’ observation. The most frequently detected conditions in the region are benign skin neoplasms, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and respiratory system cancers. Most patients are over 60 years old.
In total, 1,354 cases of malignant tumors were identified in Novosibirsk Oblast in 2025, with 72% detected at stages I and II.
«For the past several years, the number of cases has remained approximately the same, around 12,000 cases per year. Compared to previous years, the number of cancer diseases detected at stages I–II has increased. And suspicions during medical checkups reached 6,466 — this is more than in previous years. These figures are encouraging,» said Yelena Aksenova.
Specialists recommend paying attention to the body’s condition and any deviations from the norm. Even simple examination methods such as fluorography, mole checks, and blood tests can help suspect the development of cancer at an early stage.
Earlier, NGS reported that new tests have been included in the medical checkup program in Novosibirsk Oblast.
