Monkeypox Patients in Moscow Region Hospitalized in Infectious Diseases Ward

A man infected with monkeypox is in serious condition in a Moscow region hospital. Authorities are monitoring contacts to prevent further spread.

The man hospitalized in the Moscow region with monkeypox is in serious condition. At this moment, the diagnosis has been confirmed only in him. This was reported to MSK1.RU by the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region.

The patient is currently being treated in the infectious diseases department of Domodedovo City Hospital. The Moscow Region Ministry of Health and Rospotrebnadzor (the Russian consumer protection agency) are monitoring the situation and conducting necessary measures to prevent the disease from spreading.

«Another contact person is in satisfactory condition and is under observation by medical specialists in the infectious diseases department. At present, no clinical manifestations of the disease have been recorded,» explained Maxim Zabelin, Minister of Health of the Moscow Region.
