Margarita Simonyan has completed her first course of chemotherapy. The editor-in-chief of RT (Russia Today) postponed the cancer treatment as long as possible and only started it at the end of October. According to Margarita, she now has almost no energy to get up and spends most of her time lying down, resting by watching TV series for the first time in a long while. In addition to the unfamiliar bed rest for Simonyan, she is also getting used to having lost her hair.

The journalist mentioned the hair loss in a conversation with a subscriber of her channel. Under the latest video of her program «Ch.T.D.», Margarita was complimented on her appearance and she bitterly admitted that this was the last time she was seen looking like that.

— Thank you. If I look beautiful there, it«s for the last time. My hair has fallen out. I will record the next episodes in a wig. But it»s nice-looking too, I think, — Margarita wrote in the comments.

Simonyan revealed that she has breast cancer in September, after she accidentally found out about it during a doctor«s appointment. The journalist underwent breast surgery and was preparing for a course of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Before starting treatment, Simonyan admitted that she is not at all afraid of losing her hair and is ready for it. The journalist was more concerned about whether she would be able to return to work at all.

— It»s somehow even awkward for an adult widow with several children to worry about hair. I«ve already bought wigs and turbans in case I can return to the air, and honestly, it even amuses me, — Margarita shared with her subscribers.

After the death of her husband Tigran Keosayan, who died in September after spending almost a year in a coma without regaining consciousness, work became an outlet for Margarita. After forty days of mourning, Simonyan announced that she would continue to produce the program »Ch.T.D.«, which replaced »International Sawmill«, once created by her husband. The journalist pre-recorded several episodes that are airing now, and is now waiting to start recording again.
