Margarita Simonyan can barely walk after third chemotherapy

Since November, Margarita Simonyan has been undergoing treatment for breast cancer, and with each chemotherapy session, she feels worse. After the first one, she returned to filming her show and working on television within weeks. After the second, Margarita even found the strength to travel to India with Vladimir Putin to launch the RT India channel. But after the third procedure, which took place on December 7, Simonyan has not been able to recover as quickly.
She reported in her blog that she has almost no strength. The journalist considered it important to explain why she did not attend the club meeting where her book «In the Beginning Was the Word — In the End Will Be the Digital» was discussed.
«Until the last moment, I hoped I could be at this important event for me, but after the third chemotherapy, it became very hard. I can barely find the strength to leave my room. Thank you to everyone who came for your attention and such interest in my book,» Margarita thanked her fans.
Previously, Simonyan said that the hardest days are the first ones after chemotherapy. During this time, her well-being deteriorates and her vital signs drop significantly. But apparently, this time the side effects are lasting much longer.
Margarita herself tries to remain optimistic and not worry about the unpleasant consequences. As soon as her hair started falling out, she bought wigs. When forced to spend days lying in bed, she turned on series that she previously had no time for.
«That I»m going bald, that taste disappears, like with COVID, that skin is deteriorating — that goes without saying. I don«t worry about that. In fact, I admit, I don»t worry about anything except managing to raise my children,« Margarita wrote after the third chemotherapy.
Simonyan found out about the oncology in September. As she herself believes, she was brought down by the illness of Tigran Keosayan. In December 2024, the director fell into a coma and did not regain consciousness until his death. All this time, the journalist was worried and did not notice how her body failed. The warning sign was chest pain, which Simonyan attributed to nerves until the doctors gave her the terrible diagnosis.
