This week will be challenging for weather-sensitive residents of Samara. A series of magnetic storms will hit the region. Already on Monday, January 26, the geomagnetic activity index will reach 4 points. On Tuesday, January 27, it will drop to two points. After a brief respite, weather-dependent people will once again face cosmic survival struggles.

«On Wednesday, January 28, the geomagnetic activity index will be 4 points. And on Thursday, January 28, it will reach 5 points. This equates to the concept of a »weak magnetic storm«. The same level will remain on Friday, January 29,» according to the forecast on the Gismeteo website.

On Saturday, January 31, the geomagnetic activity index will decrease to 4 points.

According to information from open sources, a geomagnetic storm is a disturbance of the Earth«s geomagnetic field lasting from several hours to several days. Magnetic storms are caused by the arrival of disturbed solar wind streams in the vicinity of Earth. This phenomenon is one of the most important elements of solar-terrestrial physics and its practical part, usually referred to by the term »space weather«.

Magnetic storms affect blood viscosity, increasing it. The risk of blood clots increases, and the body«s gas exchange decreases. In hypertensive patients, blood pressure rises, while in people with low blood pressure, it drops even lower.

Doctors advise weather-sensitive people to drink more water, limit alcohol and salt consumption, and avoid stress and nervous strain.
