Kindergarten reopens in Nyagan after salmonella outbreak

Authorities are working to identify the source of the salmonella infection that affected multiple children.
The «Teremok» kindergarten in Nyagan has reopened after a salmonella outbreak. Nine children received treatment at the Nyagan District Hospital. This was reported by the city administration.
Salmonellosis is an acute infectious disease of the digestive tract. Infection causes fever and symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Signs of dehydration may also occur.
«Disinfection using disinfectants has been carried out in the premises. A medical filter and general monitoring have been established. Authorized services continue efforts to determine the source of infection,» according to the statement.
Earlier we reported that after the salmonella outbreak among kindergarten pupils, law enforcement agencies opened a criminal case. Infection was diagnosed in 26 children, and it was found that all staff members were healthy. The institution«s operation was suspended until February 2.
