Former Ryazan-VDV and Krylya Sovetov footballer Maria Vukovic has been diagnosed with cancer. The VK group «Women»s Football: Russia and the World« urged fans to support the athlete.
The community also noted that the woman is going through a difficult period.
Maria Vukovic is a Serbian footballer and forward. She played for the Serbian national team. In the summer of 2019, she transferred to the Russian club Ryazan-VDV. She made her debut in the Russian championship on July 27, 2019, against Chertanovo, and scored her first goal in the 46th minute, securing victory for her club. In total, over half a season, she played 10 matches and scored 7 goals in the Russian championship, becoming a finalist of the national cup with her club. In 2020, after the season ended, she left the Ryazan club. At the beginning of the year, cancer was detected in the athlete.
