Residents of Rostov Oblast are increasingly complaining about the low quality of tap water, which forces them to change filters every few weeks or months.

Rostovvodokanal (Rostov Water Utility) states that water from the Don River undergoes comprehensive treatment, and the arising problems may be related to the wear and tear of pipes in homes and on streets.

Many Don residents disagree with this explanation and provide examples from various settlements:
- «And what will the water utility say about the fact that water flowing from the tap smells of chlorine? Are the pipes in the house to blame for that too?»
- «You»re lucky that you don«t change your filter for 3 months. In our Kamensk, we have to change it twice a month, or even three times.»
- «In Chaltyr — every two weeks. And there are two filters.»
- «Today the water from the tap was dirtier than in the river again.»
- «I wonder, does anyone cook with this water? Like, make soup straight from the tap?»
- «And in a private house, are the pipes old too? The house was built and put into operation less than six months ago. The house is new, the pipes are new, and the water comes out smelly.»
- «In Taganrog, the water has a smell of silt altogether; I was visiting, you take a shower — you feel the smell immediately.»
- «The water utility is a »hero«! Shifts responsibility for supplying low-quality water to Rostov residents. What do »management companies« have to do with it? What nonsense? Don»t make people laugh, please.«
Earlier, Vodokanal (the Water Utility) responded to complaints, noting that tap water naturally contains microelements, compounds, and organic matter that can be retained on filters.
