Doctors at the Regional Clinical Hospital (OKB) saved a 92-year-old guitarist. He fell ill at a bus stop on the way to a performance, according to the press service of the OKB as reported to YA62.RU.
At the stop, the musician felt unwell and developed speech impairments. His companion promptly called an ambulance. The ambulance team made a preliminary diagnosis of stroke, which was confirmed by the OKB doctors.
The musician underwent thrombolysis, a procedure that prevents the death of heart, brain, and lung tissue. The key factor for the successful outcome, as noted by the OKB, was time — less than two hours passed from the onset of symptoms to the patient«s delivery to the hospital.
The hospital assured that the man has no contraindications for performances, he has recovered and can continue to engage in creative activities.
