A five-year-old girl cannot promptly have a cyst removed that she got while playing in kindergarten. In three cities of Kuzbass (Kemerovo Oblast), no doctors were found able to perform the 30-minute operation, her mother told NGS42.RU on Tuesday, July 21.

According to the resident of Kiselyovsk, in early July her daughter complained of an injury to the temporal part of her head, which she got in kindergarten — during play she was hit, after which a bruise appeared. At first it looked like a hematoma, but since it did not go away, she had to see a doctor. At the local clinic, it turned out that the little girl had first one cyst, then a second, after which they merged into one.

The operation, according to a medical worker, would take from 30 minutes to an hour, but they cannot perform it in the city.

«We were told that the hospitals have no anesthesiologist, they gave us a referral to Prokopyevsk,» the woman said.

The child was taken to Prokopyevsk, but even there they could not promptly remove it — there was no free slot, and they offered to wait until September 2. Since the girl has headaches, the relatives did not wait and, under another referral, went to Novokuznetsk, where they faced another refusal.

«They said there is no surgeon, they suggested going to Kemerovo. We came here, but here they also offered to wait first until September 2, but after an hour they moved it to the 7th,» the girl«s mother says.

She added that doctors at all three clinics told her that removal of the cyst is necessary, as it can grow, which is fraught with more serious problems for the growing body. The woman is also concerned about the possibility of worsening if the girl hits her head again in kindergarten or at home.

At the Kemerovo clinic, where the NGS42 editorial office requested a comment, they said that the facility performs operations daily and there is no shortage of doctors. Why they could not help promptly is being investigated.

Update at 15:20

A representative of the clinic administration said that the girl was scheduled for surgery, which will take place before July 29. The medical facility noted that the child«s relatives were allegedly offered this immediately, but they refused. The mother of the kindergartner denied this. According to her, no July offer was made before the publication in the media and social networks.

Previously, NGS42.RU reported on the shortage of personnel in the medical field.
