Yaroslavl Oblast Increases One-Time Payment for Contract Soldiers

The one-time payment for military personnel who signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense has been increased in Yaroslavl Oblast.

— «Now soldiers who go to the zone of the special military operation from our region will receive 1.6 million rubles (approximately $17,400), including federal payments,» — said Governor Mikhail Yevrayev.

The increased amount will be available to those who sign a contract starting from February 5, 2026.

The governor added that Yaroslavl Oblast is also recruiting those wishing to serve under contract in the unmanned systems forces. Detailed information and assistance with organizational issues in this area can be obtained by calling the short number *176.66.

The regional government added that in Yaroslavl Oblast, families of contract soldiers are exempt from fees for meals in schools and kindergartens, from transport tax, have priority right to receive social services, and a broad package of other benefits. Soldiers are provided with medical rehabilitation and payments in case of injury.

Previously, the one-time payment for military personnel signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense was 1.1 million rubles (approximately $12,000).
