From Basement to Cat Cafe: Lunik Seeks Home
Lunik the cat from the cat cafe likes to lie on the window and watch the street
At the Yoshkin Kot cat cafe in Kurgan, fluffy residents do more than just live and delight visitors — they also look for new homes. One of them is a cat named Lunik. Volunteers gave him the name and asked Nadezhda Ivanova, the owner of the cat cafe, to take the whiskered cat in from the city shelter.

— The cat Lunik came to our cafe from the municipal shelter. Local residents caught him in the basement of an apartment building. After that, he was neutered and vaccinated at the municipal shelter, and they wanted to release him back. But volunteers contacted us and said it would be a shame to send such a tame kitty back to the basement. That is how this cat ended up here. Now they are looking for caring and kind owners for him — Nadezhda shares the cat«s story.
At the cat cafe you can meet and befriend the residents
Lunik is black-and-white, gentle, and not aggressive. He is one of seven pets living at Yoshkin Kot. The owner of the cafe, which marked its fifth anniversary this year, said that over that time about 30 cats have been rehomed with new owners. Adopted pets are checked on for a while, and the staff stay in touch with the owners. Anyone who wants to take a fluffy friend home can come to the cafe and meet them.
