Voronezh city hall outlines new funeral permit procedures

Permits for funerals in Voronezh can be obtained through a simplified procedure at the city cemetery administration. This was reminded by the city hall.
Starting February 1, citizens must submit an application to the city cemetery administration at least 24 hours before the funeral to coordinate the date, time, and place of burial. For the application, the following are required:
passport of the applicant;
original death certificate of the deceased.
Applications can be submitted by phone at 8 (473) 279-24-75 or in person at the reception office at 9 Yanvarya Street, 217v. Applications can be made any day, the reception office operates on the following schedule:
Monday to Friday — from 8:00 to 14:00;
Saturday — from 8:00 to 12:00;
Sunday — day off.
The cemetery administration must issue the permit within three business days at the latest.
In Voronezh, new burials are currently allowed only at one cemetery — Berezovsky in the Levoberezhny district. On others, only additional burials in existing graves are permitted, for example next to relatives. Moreover, at Kominternovskoye Cemetery, historical and memorial, new plots are allocated for Heroes of Russia, honorary citizens of Voronezh, and those who have made significant contributions to the scientific, cultural, medical, or economic spheres of the city or region.
