Volgograd Residents Report Prolonged Water Cutoff in Northern Area
Residents are trying to quench their thirst with purchased water
In northern Volgograd, residents of an entire block have reported a week-long absence of cold water. Citizens accuse the authorities of inaction, claiming that due to the specifics of apartment buildings, they are deprived not only of cold but also of hot water. In turn, all structures involved in water supply assure that there are no bursts or shutdowns in the buildings.

«How long will they ignore the fact that on Degtyareva Street, 39, 41, 43, 45, 47, 51, and Dzerzhinsky Street, 38, 42, there has been no water for five days?! »Concessions of Water Supply« are doing nothing and not even trying. Complete ignorance from the authorities, there»s no information anywhere about the reasons and timelines, and we have gas water heaters. That means we effectively have neither hot nor cold water, we can«t even bathe the children. No water delivery is being provided either,» says an angry resident of one of the dehydrated houses.
In LLC «UK TZR», which services the buildings, they stated that there have been no large-scale shutdowns on the intra-building networks.
«Shutdowns of cold water can only occur in case of installing building-wide metering devices, but only for a few hours,» explained the director of the management company, Tatiana Pershina. «According to the readings of building-wide metering devices in all the mentioned buildings, except for addresses Dzerzhinsky 38, 42, and Degtyareva, 39 and 51, where building-wide meters are not installed, water supply is present and has not been interrupted.»
The press service of «Concessions of Water Supply» also refuted information about the shutdown of the vital resource for a long time, but clarified that water was cut off pointwise due to repair work.
«Today from 10:30 on Degtyareva Street, 51, the supply of the resource was suspended due to damage on the intra-building networks, which the managing company is fixing. For this reason, water supply is also absent on Dzerzhinsky Street, 42. Yesterday on Degtyareva Street, 51, there was a short-term shutdown of cold water supply from 15:00 to 17:20 for network inspection. No more shutdowns have been conducted,» answered representatives of the utility service.
