As a reminder: in the early morning of 21 July, a missile alert was urgently declared in the Volgograd region. Residents received an SMS notification from the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry (RSChS) asking them to take their documents and proceed to a shelter.
Residents report that after the SMS notification, the sirens started howling in the city.
At about the same time, Rosaviatsiya (Russia«s Federal Air Transport Agency) closed Volgograd Airport to arrivals and departures to ensure flight safety.
There have been no official reports on the situation in the region so far.
