Volgograd Residents Complain of Internet Outage

In central Volgograd, residents faced a mass outage of home internet. According to residents, the network was inaccessible for nearly a day the day before. They note that such situations occur regularly, yet the monthly fee is charged in full.
Complaints came from residents of building No. 2 on Alleya Geroyev. A similar problem also occurred for those living in building No. 14 on Sovetskaya Street.
«Dear provider. When will you deign to fix the internet? On Alleya Geroyev, 2 your old equipment stands, which works intermittently. The hotline says »work is ongoing.« The work takes nearly a day. And this is not the first time,» complain residents. «Yesterday we had no internet for a day. When I came home from work yesterday, the TV doesn»t work, I can«t access the banking app. The regular mobile internet is also jammed.»
However, according to one female resident, they have no option to switch providers.
«Every month we pay 1,000 rubles ($11 at current rates). For some it may not be money, but for us it is substantial. We have no other providers. If there were an opportunity to switch, people would have already switched,» says the woman. «I am a consumer, I pay for services, and in the end — zero. Why isn»t the equipment that can«t handle the load being replaced? Why isn»t there a recalculation?«
A provider employee explained that the day before, a phased power outage occurred, which left the equipment de-energized.
«It»s hot now, there«s a very heavy load, everyone is turning on air conditioners and such. The wiring in these houses is old, it can»t handle it, and that«s why interruptions occur. The equipment is new in almost all houses,» the employee clarified.
Earlier, residents of the Voroshilovsky district and the workers« settlement of Gorkovsky in the Sovetsky district were left without internet. According to them, access disappeared without explanation. Provider representatives then reported that there was a break in the main line.
