This weekend, Nizhny Novgorod will host the mass X-Waters swim. Due to this, traffic of small vessels on the Volga and Oka Rivers will be restricted, organizers reported.

The restriction will be in place on 26 July from 11:00 to 17:00 on the section from Kanavinsky Bridge to the cable car and Krasnoye Sormovo. The measure is necessary for the safety of participants and athletes. Operators of small vessels are advised to adjust their routes in advance.
The X-Waters Volga world championship stage will take place in Nizhny Novgorod for the tenth, anniversary time. This year, swimmers can test their strength on two new distances — 10 km and 30 km. In addition, a night swim will be held for the first time. Traditional distances of 1, 2, 3, and 5 km will also remain.
The safety of athletes will be ensured by rescuers and volunteers. Each participant will be provided with their own rescue buoy. The swims will take place on 25 and 26 July. The starting village will be located on Nizhne-Volzhskaya Embankment at the foot of the Chkalov Stairs.
Also on 25 July, the Grebnoy Canal Embankment in Nizhny Novgorod will be closed for the Russian Junior Triathlon Championship for athletes under 23.
