Ufa's Arbat Gets Sidewalk, But Buildings Still Gutted

UFA1.RU correspondents went to Oktyabrskoy Revolyutsii Street to see if reconstruction is progressing. To their surprise, a sidewalk has already been laid on one side, stretching all the way to the church. True, only on the even-numbered side so far.

The sidewalk leads directly to the Church of the Saviour Not Made by Hands. The other side is still waiting its turn — preparatory work is underway there.

All this is part of a reconstruction that began back in 2022. Since then, Ufa residents have only heard sweet promises from the authorities that the project would be completed soon, and have seen the reconstruction project, which is, by the way, quite interesting.

According to the authorities« plan, the street should become a semi-pedestrian space similar to Moscow»s Arbat: wide sidewalks, bike lanes, historic mansions housing cafes and museums.

Currently, the main efforts are concentrated on the section from Tsuryupa Street to Novomostovaya Street.

According to the contractor — Dortransstroy LLC — all work is planned to be completed by September 1: finishing lighting, laying the final layer of asphalt, and completing granite paving.

Special attention is promised to historical heritage. But for now… for now, it«s like this.

In total, there are 39 designated heritage buildings on Oktyabrskoy Revolyutsii Street. The first to undergo restoration is the Demidov House (No. 57/1) — the oldest stone residential building in Ufa (built in 1770), where Suvorov once stayed. In total, about 70 buildings along the street need repairs. The authorities hope to attract investors to turn them into museums, cafes, and children«s clubs.
