Udmurtia Approves Fraud Charges for 400M Rubles

The Deputy Prosecutor of the Udmurt Republic approved an indictment against a local woman. She is charged with 233 counts of fraud under parts 2, 3, and 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud causing significant damage, large-scale fraud, and especially large-scale fraud).
According to the investigation, from 2019 to 2023, the accused deceived residents of the region, persuading them to invest money in a construction business. The victims used both personal savings and credit funds. As a result of the illegal actions, more than 240 people suffered, and the total amount of damage exceeded 400 million rubles (approximately $4.4 million at current rates).
The criminal case will be sent to the Pervomaisky District Court of the city of Izhevsk, Udmurt Republic, for consideration on the merits.
