Two Teen Bikers Detained Near Ryazan; Parents Fined
The motorcycles of the two underage bikers were towed to a specialized impound lot.
Ryazan police stopped two motorcyclists aged 15 and 16. It turned out that both teenagers were driving without a driver«s license. They were suspended from driving, and the motorcycles were towed to an impound lot, Ryazan police reported.
Administrative protocols were drawn up against the minors for driving without a license. The article provides for a fine of 5,000 to 15,000 rubles (approximately $56 to $167 at current rates).
The teenagers« parents were also held administratively liable. For allowing a person known to be unlicensed to drive, each of them faces a fine of 30,000 rubles (approximately $333 at current rates).
In addition, juvenile affairs inspectors prepared materials to hold legal representatives accountable for improper fulfillment of child-rearing duties. This article provides for a fine of 500 to 2,000 rubles (approximately $6 to $22 at current rates).
The police reminded that preventive raids and talks with children and their parents are held regularly. Officers pay special attention to pit bikes, which are classified as sports equipment and are not intended for use on public roads.
