Two historic estates up for sale in Nizhny Novgorod Region
Architectural monuments are again being auctioned in search of investors for restoration.

In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, two cultural heritage sites have been put up for auction: the House of Merchant Bashkirov and the Obolensky Estate. Regional authorities hope to attract investors to restore these architectural monuments. Information about the auctions is published on the website of the Ministry of Property Relations of the region.

The House of Merchant Bashkirov is located in the historic part of Gorodets at 118 Maxim Gorky Street. The two-story building was constructed in 1907 and reconstructed in the 1960s as a House of Culture for the Gorodets Shipyard. Currently, this cultural heritage site is not in use. The building itself and a plot of land measuring 1,800 square meters are up for sale.

Applications to participate in the auction can be submitted until February 9, and the auction itself will take place on February 13. The starting price for the lot is 12.7 million rubles (approximately $141,100 at current rates).
The Obolensky Estate is located in the Vorotynsky District, in the southwestern part of the Krasnaya Gorka settlement at 2A Beregovaya Street. From the second half of the 19th century, the two-story brick building belonged to the Obolensky princes. In 1919, it was transferred to the Voskhoz state farm, and in the 1990s, to a private enterprise. Soon after, a fire occurred in the building, and now only ruins remain of the estate.
The estate is being sold along with a land plot measuring 13,300 square meters. The auction is also scheduled for February 13, with applications accepted until February 9. The starting cost is almost 1.4 million rubles (approximately $15,600 at current rates).
