In Zlatoust, a collision occurred in the evening between a UAZ Patriot vehicle and a Kayo pit bike. This pit bike is not subject to registration. The driver was a teenager born in 2011 (14 years old). Despite wearing a helmet, he sustained severe injuries and burns and was subsequently hospitalized.
In the Argayashsky District, another incident occurred at night. The driver of a VAZ 21120, while turning left at an uncontrolled, uneven intersection, failed to yield to a Motoland Enduro 250 motorcycle that was traveling on the main road. The motorcycle was being ridden by a teenager born in 2008 (17 years old) without a driver«s license. He was moving in the dark without headlights and protective gear. As a result of the accident, two 17-year-olds — the motorcycle driver and his passenger — sustained severe injuries and were taken to the hospital. The motorcycle was confiscated and placed in an impound lot.
The State Traffic Inspectorate (Gosavtoinspektsiya) is conducting investigations into both accidents. The information has been forwarded to juvenile affairs units for follow-up work with the teenagers and their parents.
The State Traffic Inspectorate of Chelyabinsk Region reminds parents: it is important to monitor children’s leisure time and eliminate the possibility of access to keys for motorcycles, pit bikes, and other motor vehicles. Even minimal speed requires driving skills and strict adherence to traffic rules. Riding in the dark without headlights and protective gear is especially dangerous. A pit bike or lightweight motorcycle is not a toy, but a source of serious danger.
