Tula Region Sets Conditions for Odd-Even Gasoline Sales

The Tula region authorities do not plan to introduce gasoline sales under the odd-even system, which is already in effect in a number of neighboring regions. This was stated in the regional government«s response to a query from the 71.RU newsroom.

As the government explained, such a measure is not currently required. The possibility of its introduction is only considered in the event of a significant deterioration in the fuel supply situation.

«At present, the introduction of a fuel dispensing scheme based on the »odd-even« principle in the Tula region is not required. This mechanism may only be considered in the event of a significant deterioration of the situation requiring additional measures. As of today, there are no grounds for its application,» the response to the newsroom«s query said.

At the same time, the authorities acknowledge that at some independent gas stations, temporary difficulties persist with the availability of certain fuel grades, and sometimes a complete absence of fuel. At chain gas stations, according to the government, fuel is available, and short-term interruptions are explained by supply logistics and are resolved after tanker trucks arrive.

The government also reported that the decision to introduce restrictions on fuel dispensing is made by the fuel companies themselves, based on supply volumes and the current logistical situation. The Tula Region Ministry of Energy monitors the situation daily and interacts with petroleum product suppliers.

According to the authorities, compared to the previous week, panic demand for fuel has decreased. Queues at some chain gas stations may be observed mainly during peak hours, while socially significant institutions and emergency services are provided with fuel on a priority basis.
