Novorossiysk continues to be developed as a logistics and tourism center for Russia«s Krasnodar Krai. This required a significant modernization of the city»s telecommunications infrastructure.

The work affected the central part of the port city, residential complexes, educational and medical institutions, transport hubs — the railway, bus, and sea terminals, as well as the «Krasnaya Ploshchad» (Red Square) shopping and entertainment center. Improvements in connection quality have also become noticeable on the approaches to Novorossiysk — in the settlements of Verkhnebakansky and Semigorsky.

It is noted that in the second half of 2025, local residents generated more than 2.5 thousand terabytes (TB) of mobile data traffic. According to analysts from MegaFon (a Russian mobile operator) who used big data, this volume is equivalent to 1.6 million sea routes between Novorossiysk and Murmansk.

«The carried-out modernization fully meets the growing needs of the city. As a result of updating the base stations, the network capacity and coverage area have changed, and the mobile internet speed has reached 150 Mbps,» commented Andrei Kholodov, director of the operator in Krasnodar Krai and the Republic of Adygea.

Novorossiysk is the third-largest city in Krasnodar Krai. It plays a key role in the maritime trade and transport system of the south of the country.
