Stolby Road Closed to Private Cars
Access to the Krasnoyarsk Stolby from Svedlovskaya Street to the Laletino cordon has been closed to private cars. Since July 20, a security guard has been stationed at the turn onto the Laletinskaya road. He told NGS24.RU that now only those with permission are allowed up. Previously, restrictions mainly applied on weekends; cars were allowed on weekdays.
The Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park itself has no involvement in the restriction, explained Deputy Director for Protection Ivan Kirillov. The section belongs to city territory, and the decision was made at meetings with the participation of the administration of the Sverdlovsky District and Krasgorpark (Krasnoyarsk City Parks Department). A private security company will guard the entrance.
«Since last week, the barrier worked automatically via phone, but from today physical security has appeared. This is due to numerous complaints; the entire road was being parked up. Access for emergency services was hindered up near the Laletino cordon, with cars parked on both sides. Now is the peak of the visiting season, so apparently such a decision was made — to restrict access to prevent parking on the territory,» Kirillov said.
This two-kilometer stretch has not been closed for the first time. Restrictions have been imposed at least since 2012; in November 2015, the passage was blocked due to an influx of visitors, and in 2018, a tow truck began operating on the road.
It didn’t help. In August 2022, more than a hundred cars stood there even on weekdays, and in June 2026, residents again complained to the mayor about the access road being filled with cars.
Whether this is a seasonal or permanent measure, who introduced it and by what document, and how to obtain permission to enter, remains unclear. The administration of the Sverdlovsky District and Krasgorpark did not answer calls during lunchtime. NGS24.RU will ask these questions later and update the material.
