Residents of Rostov-on-Don complain about the emergency condition of the descent to the Main Bus Station on Maxim Gorky Street. Many steps are destroyed or loose, and during rain or snowfall it becomes especially unsafe to move along them. A correspondent for 161.RU found out the administration«s plans for repair.

The administration of the Leninsky District explained that the Housing and Public Utilities Department has already prepared a cost estimate for restoration work. Currently, specialists are completing the paperwork for allocation of funding.

At a meeting with the head of the Leninsky District, Yulia Mishchuk, on July 15, local residents raised the issue of repairing the staircase. One participant stated that the descent is «in a terrible state.» Mishchuk responded that the district administration is pushing for funds for immediate repair, but in the long term a major restoration is planned. The authorities have proposed that two developers invest in the repairs, but she did not specify whether any of the companies agreed.
In addition, the district authorities are preparing a cost estimate for the improvement of the areas under the bridge on Siversa and at the Western turnaround. The finished project is promised to be presented in October.
