St. Petersburg officials set deadlines for new metro stations

At a press conference, Vice Governor Nikolai Linchenko announced progress in metro construction and outlined plans to open ten new stations by 2030.

On 20 January at a TASS press conference, St. Petersburg Vice Governor Nikolai Linchenko stated that the tunneling shield «Nadezhda» has already covered 80% of the route on the section of the Nevsko-Vasileostrovskaya Line from Begovaya station to Kamenska station.
The official confirmed that the work is proceeding according to schedule. The city administration is implementing a plan to put ten new stations into operation by 2030.
Three of them are already open:
  • Gorny Institut
  • Putilovskaya
  • Yugo-Zapadnaya
The following seven stations are under construction:
  • Teatralnaya with an exit
  • Bronovaya
  • Zastavskaya
  • Bogatyrskaya
  • Kamenska
  • Borovaya
  • Karetnaya
The extension of the brown metro line from Putilovskaya to Karetnaya is planned to be fully completed by 2030.
