Smolny Reveals Plans for Orange Metro Line Extension

During a press conference at TASS on January 20, Vice Governor Nikolai Linchenko and the head of the construction committee, Igor Kreslavsky, answered questions about the construction of new metro stations.

Kreslavsky explained that plans to extend the orange line to the «Morskoy Fasad» station relate to the period after 2030. As for construction in the direction of «Kudrovo», he said, «without federal co-financing, it will not happen.»

Nikolai Linchenko added that the city could begin designing this branch after resolving property issues related to plots located in the Leningrad Oblast.

Regarding the routing of the Krasnoselsko-Kalininskaya (brown) line from «Yugo-Zapadnaya» to «Sosnovaya Polyana», the construction committee did not provide a definitive answer. As previously reported, an alternative route without the intermediate «Brestskaya» station is currently being considered.
