Second Batch of Russian Starlink Counterpart Satellites Launched
The second batch of satellites for the Russian counterpart of Starlink has been successfully launched into orbit. The spacecraft separated from the launch vehicle and established communication.

Company Bureau 1440 carried out the second batch launch of satellites, placing them into orbit on 20 July 2026.
«The spacecraft separated from the launch vehicle and made contact with the Bureau 1440 flight control center,» the organization stated.
After completing checks and bringing all subsystems into operation, the satellites will begin transitioning to their target orbit, where they will provide communication services.
The first batch of 16 Russian broadband internet satellites was launched into orbit in March 2026. This low-orbit satellite system, as previously noted by State Duma Committee on Information Policy head Sergey Boyarsky, will become a counterpart to the American Starlink.
According to 2024 data, the creation of the Russian Starlink counterpart by Bureau 1440 was estimated at approximately 445 billion rubles (about 4.5 billion USD at current rates).
