Russia adds drone assembly lessons to school curriculum
The Russian government has approved a list of educational resources for school classrooms on the basics of security and homeland defense. According to documents, the study of unmanned aerial vehicles will become part of this discipline.
In total, the list contains almost 90 items. In addition to educational kits for developing UAVs and drone constructors, it includes:
- mock-ups of firearms (Makarov pistol, Kalashnikov assault rifle);
- first aid supplies: tourniquets, splints, CPR training mannequins;
- special equipment: tents, binoculars, radios, life jackets and rings, entrenching shovels.
For training, a basic educational drone kit is also provided, which will allow students to master the basics of block programming and piloting using a remote control or smartphone. The kits come with teaching materials for students and instructors.
Earlier, at the end of May 2025, it became known about plans to introduce the study of drones within technology lessons. The new initiative expands this approach by integrating the topic into a course dedicated to the basics of homeland defense.
