Residents complain about non-working fountain near Petrov
In Volgograd, residents have complained about a non-working fountain near the Petrov Palace of Culture in the Sovetsky district. Every day, families with children gather in the park, but they cannot cool off in the summer heat.
Photos were shared with the editor by readers of V1.RU, who recently took a walk in Sovetsky district.
«As long as I can remember, this fountain always worked in hot weather. And there were always many children around it. There are benches nearby; people sit and relax. It»s not that the fountain gave any powerful coolness, but still. And now the fountain isn«t working at all. Moreover, there is water in the bowl. Most likely, it just collected after the rain. There are no streams or splashes,» the reader reports. «And nearby there is a broken monument to Vladimir Lenin, and the Palace of Culture itself is not in the best shape. But once upon a time it was truly a well-maintained recreation spot for residents of Sovetsky.»
V1.RU is inquiring with the administration of Volgograd about why the fountain is not working and when it will be operational.
For reference: last week, the renovated fountain «Detsky Khorovod» (Children«s Round Dance) was returned to Privokzalnaya Square. The new sculptures of children turned out much more authentic. Whereas the previous plaster children looked different from the original — more adult-like — the current bronze ones are much closer to the authors» original design. Another feature: «decorative lighting imitating streams of water,» which the governor boasted about during a working visit to the square. Note: the fountain has not been launched yet.
