Prokopyevsk Awards Kin of 170+ Fallen in Special Military Operation

Prokopyevsk Head Maksim Shkarabeinikov presented government awards to relatives of city residents killed in the special operation. According to publications reviewed by NGS42.RU on Wednesday, January 21, authorities have honored the memory of over 174 Prokopyevsk natives at similar events over the past three years.
On his VK page, Shkarabeinikov regularly reports on the presentation of awards to relatives of deceased participants of the special military operation, with decrees signed by President Vladimir Putin. Over the past three years, he has mentioned 174 natives of the city who participated in the operation.
Thus, on January 20, the city head awarded medals and orders to 29 relatives of the fallen; on December 25 – to 14; on December 17 – to 22; on November 21 – to three; on November 7 – to nine; on August 20 – to eight; on May 27 – to 16; on March 12 – to 13.
Similar publications have appeared earlier. In 2024, the city head spoke about the unveiling of a memorial plaque that immortalized 52 Prokopyevsk natives who fell in the special military operation.
Moreover, he has written several times about events organized in memory of more than 10 deceased: the opening of «heroes» desks« and sports competitions.
Additionally, in March 2023, the memory of four Prokopyevsk residents was immortalized by installing memorial plaques on city schools, and in February, Shkarabeinikov mentioned the deaths of two Rosgvardiya (Russian National Guard) fighters in February 2022.
At the previous awards ceremony, which NGS42.RU wrote about, the city head presented 14 medals, including to relatives of a sailor.
