Police Ensure Safety at Rural Sports Games

On 18 July, the XX Regional Rural Sports Games took place in Znamenka, Tambov Oblast. Police officers ensured security for the event, which drew over 700 participants and spectators.

On 18 July, the XX Regional Rural Sports Games were held in the working settlement of Znamenka, Znamensky Municipal District, Tambov Oblast. The event was dedicated to the Year of Unity of Peoples of Russia.

Thirteen teams representing various municipal districts of the region took part in the competition. The total number of participants and spectators exceeded 700 people.

Public order and security during the games were ensured by officers of the Intermunicipal Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Znamensky». Law enforcement officers had previously inspected the area for explosives and placed the facility under enhanced control to prevent possible terrorist threats.
