The Perm Krai Swimming Federation reported on the results of the region«s athletes at 2025 competitions. Leading swimmers from Perm Krai won 68 medals at district, all-Russian, and international events: 26 gold, 27 silver, and 15 bronze.

As part of the charitable program «Uralchem for Sports», the «PMU» branch of JSC «OKHK Uralchem» supports the development of swimming in Perm Krai. Thanks to this assistance, the region«s athletes successfully perform at competitions of various levels.

In 2025, Master of Sport Kira Manokhina (SC «Olimpiya-Perm», coach Andrey Orekhov) contributed 13 medals to the Perm Krai team«s tally. For instance, as part of the Russian national team, she won two silver medals at the World Junior Championships in Romania, as well as a silver medal at the European Junior Championships in Slovakia.

International Master of Sport Ekaterina Sorokina (SC «Dolphin», Krasnokamsk, coach Lidiya Biryukova) won 10 medals at external competitions in 2025. Among them were gold and silver in the 5 km and 10 km distances at the Russian Open Water Swimming Cup in the village of Zasechnoye, Penza Oblast.

Due to successful performances, eight athletes from Perm Krai have become candidates for the Russian swimming national team. They are:

  • International Master of Sport Ekaterina Sorokina (SC «Dolphin», Krasnokamsk, coach — Lidiya Biryukova);

  • Masters of Sport Ruslan Sadykov and Ksenia Maksimova (SC «Dolphin», Krasnokamsk, coach — Lidiya Biryukova);

  • Candidate Master of Sport Semyon Demidov (SC «Dolphin», Krasnokamsk, coach — Lidiya Biryukova);

Another important outcome of 2025 was the extension of swimming«s status as a basic sport in Perm Krai until 2030. This means that swimmers training in the region»s sports schools will have all opportunities to develop their sports talent and perform at competitions of all levels, including international ones. Increasing the number of Perm athletes at external starts is the goal of our work for the next four years,
said Alexei Averyanov, director of the «PMU» branch of JSC «OKHK Uralchem», president of the Public Organization «Perm Krai Swimming Federation».

In 2025, the Perm Krai Swimming Federation, with the support of the region«s Ministry of Physical Culture and Sport, as well as Uralchem, organized two regional championships and three junior championships. The next regional starts — the Perm Krai Swimming Championship and Junior Championship — are scheduled for 10–12 February 2026. They will take place at the »Olimpiya-Perm« pool.
