Orlov driver charged in fatal crash killing two
A 41-year-old resident of Orlovsky District is accused of a traffic violation causing the death of two passengers. The man drove into oncoming traffic.

On 3 December 2025, a traffic accident occurred on the Kostroma–Sharya–Kirov–Perm federal highway in Orlovsky District (Kirov Oblast). A 41-year-old driver of an Audi drove into oncoming traffic and collided with a GAZ vehicle. As a result of the collision, two passengers of the car died.
According to the investigation, the driver violated traffic rules, leading to the tragedy. A criminal case has been opened against him under Part 5 of Article 264 of the Russian Criminal Code (CC RF) – violation of traffic rules negligently causing the death of two persons.
The Orlovsky District Prosecutor«s Office approved the indictment on 20 July 2026. The case materials have been sent to court for consideration on the merits.
