Nizhny Novgorod: Top Districts for Snow-Clearing Fines

Nizhny Novgorod has recorded nearly 4,000 violations of snow-clearing rules this winter, with over a thousand escalating into administrative cases.

During a meeting of the city duma«s commission on economic affairs, Andrey Buzin, head of the Department of Administrative-Technical and Municipal Control, presented data on violations of snow-clearing rules in the courtyards of Nizhny Novgorod (Russia).

Inspectors identified a total of 3,930 cases of untimely or poor-quality snow clearing from territories. Timely corrections were made for 2,844 violations, but 1,086 incidents led to the initiation of administrative proceedings.

The highest number of administrative cases was recorded in the Nizhegorodsky district — 73 proceedings. The Sovetsky district came second with 55 cases.

The districts with an elevated number of violations also included:

  • Prioksky district
  • Kanavinsky district
  • Leninsky district

The lowest numbers were noted in the Avtozavodsky district.

Andrey Buzin reported that special control during snowfalls was exercised over the activities of managing companies and homeowners« associations. Close attention was paid to densely built-up residential areas, where snow clearing was often delayed.
