Nikitin inspects hospitals, schools in two districts

Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin spent the weekend on working trips. He visited two districts, Diveyevo and Arzamas, where he inspected a number of social and medical infrastructure facilities. The results of the trips were shared by the press service of the regional government.
In Arzamas, the governor visited a hospital that includes outpatient clinics, a children«s health center, an oncology outpatient care center, and other units. Since 2023, a regional vascular center has been operating on the basis of the Central City Hospital (TsGB), where patients from 17 municipalities are referred.
Nikitin instructed the Ministry of Health to allocate funds in the 2027 budget for the purchase of additional equipment for the vascular center and to present a hospital development program for the coming years. Soon it will become a hub facility for residents of neighboring districts.
The regional head recalled that he first visited the Arzamas Central District Hospital during the coronavirus pandemic. Over the years, according to him, the situation at the medical facility has noticeably improved.
«Honestly, the hospital made, to put it mildly, a poor impression back then. I remember how I decided to install a ventilation system in the infectious diseases unit — it was a basic necessity. And now, after some time, I am here again. The situation has changed dramatically. Everywhere new windows, modern couches, state-of-the-art equipment. The regional vascular center is operating, and it makes the most incredible impression,» the governor wrote.
Nikitin also checked the progress of the reconstruction of Secondary School No. 1 named after M. Gorky and assessed the landscaping of new public spaces. One of them is the Gaidarovsky Pond, which opened in May. There, the reservoir was cleaned, the area was tidied up, and a statue was installed in the shape of the city«s symbol — a goose, 185 cm (6 ft 1 in) tall, decorated with wood carvings.
Together with Arzamas mayor Alexander Shchelokov, the governor discussed current development programs, maintenance issues, prospects for the Drama Theater building, the establishment of the V. F. Genebart Museum, and implementation of projects under the «You Decide!» program.
On the same day, Nikitin visited the Diveyevo district. He went to the Central District Hospital (CRB), which has received about 110 million rubles ($1.22 million at current exchange rates) for modernization in recent years. The wiring was completely replaced, the reception desk and some departments were renovated. New equipment and vehicles were also purchased. Renovations are expected to be completed in 2027.
The governor also visited the Diveyevo and Elizaryevo schools, where major repairs are currently underway.
«In Elizaryevo, the school is essentially being built from scratch. One old building was completely demolished, even a new foundation for the gym had to be poured, and a new boiler house has already been built. Now work is in the home stretch. The facility is to be handed over by the end of December,» Gleb Nikitin summarized.
