New viewing platform near Sibir Arena in Novosibirsk

In Novosibirsk, a procurement has been announced for the improvement of the territory of the viewing platform on Lyshchinsky Square. The initial price of the work is just over 8.5 million rubles (about $100,000 at current rates).

Information about this appeared on the state procurement website. The customer for the work is MKU «Upravleniye Dorozhnogo Stroitelstva» (Municipal Institution «Road Construction Directorate»), and they intend to select a contractor on 7 August.

The local cost estimate includes earthworks, construction of the viewing platform itself, cutting of paving slabs, and other work. The contractor will have to plant trees, install road curbstones, fencing, and small architectural forms.

«The installation of pedestrian railings must be made of metal with forged elements,» — it said in the procurement description.

The work under the contract must be completed by 20 October 2026, and the source of financing is the budget of Novosibirsk. The warranty period for the sidewalks and the viewing platform will be four years, and for the pedestrian railings — five years.

Lyshchinsky Square is located not far from the Sibir Arena. As the city hall reported, from the comprehensive viewing platform there will be a view of the Ob River, the metro bridge, the right bank, the Mikhailovskaya Embankment, and the Arena Park.

The work was divided into two stages. Last year, the site was prepared, curbstones were installed, and the first viewing circle was built. As part of the final stage, scheduled for 2026, it was planned to build a second circle of the viewing platform, install fencing, provide lighting, and other work.

At the end of June, it became known that the square in front of the railway station in Novosibirsk, where kiosks were demolished, was decided to be improved. A design project will be developed for it.
