New Telecom Equipment Covers Akademichesky's 12th Quarter and Park Rink

Residents of a new quarter in the Akademichesky district of Yekaterinburg have begun using mobile communications more. Since the beginning of the month, users have downloaded a volume of data comparable to sending about 4.3 million photos. The total duration of calls since the start of the year has exceeded 250 thousand minutes. This information, based on anonymized data, was reported by analysts from Megafon.

To meet the communication needs of residents of the 12th quarter and visitors to the district, who often spend time in winter in Preobrazhensky Park with its ice rink, additional telecom equipment was installed on its territory. It operates on the 4G network and supports several frequency ranges. This allows for using mobile internet at speeds up to 90 Mbps and making voice calls to a large number of subscribers simultaneously.

«We continue to develop telecom infrastructure in one of the most actively developing districts of Yekaterinburg—Akademichesky. So that residents of this area can receive the necessary digital services even during peak network hours, we are launching new facilities. For example, last year in Akademichesky, a base station was put into operation on Wilhelm de Gennin Street,» said Alexey Zhenikhov, director of the operator in Sverdlovsk Oblast.
