New mayor inspects Yakutsk with Aysen Nikolaev

New Mayor of Yakutsk Dmitry Sadovnikov and head of the republic Aysen Nikolaev almost immediately after the elections toured the capital together and saw how things were in the airport area. On July 21, Il Darkhan reported this in his channel on Max.

The leaders inspected the site for the construction of the future Yakutsk Aviation School, which will appear on the site of demolished emergency houses. Nikolaev instructed the mayor to clear the site of construction debris as soon as possible.

They also checked the progress of improvement of the Yuri Gagarin Square, for the renovation of which more than 17 thousand residents voted.

«After the renovation, walking alleys, children«s and exhibition spaces will appear here, and the memorial zone dedicated to the feat of the pilots of the Alaska–Siberia route will be put in order. The readiness of the facility is about 40%,» Aysen Nikolaev reported.

The main work is planned to be completed in September, by City Day. Sadovnikov also inspected the construction of social facilities and road repairs.

Dmitry Sadovnikov was elected by the city council deputies on July 20, with 23 out of 25 elected officials voting in favor. The inauguration of the new head will take place on July 21 at 17:00 at the Gagarin House of Culture.
