New Cafe and Performance Space in Kurgan Square
A new public space with recreational areas, a cafe, and a stage for amateur performances is being developed at the intersection of Sovetskaya and Proletarskaya streets in Kurgan. Governor Vadim Shumkov announced that all landscaping work will be completed this season.

In Kurgan, at the intersection of Sovetskaya and Proletarskaya streets, near the Central Market, another public space will appear. Governor Vadim Shumkov wrote about this on his social media.
Workers are now laying tiles. The site has already been cleared.

«All landscaping work will be completed by the end of the season; several recreational areas, pavilions selling local souvenirs and food products will appear. A small cafe should appear later,» the head of the region said. He also previously wrote that in addition to a promenade, a stage for amateur artistic performances will be built here.
In April 2026, on Sovetskaya Street, near the Repka guesthouse, the remains of the burnt wing of the Kalinin merchants« house were demolished (source). Last fall, the remains of the Kalinin merchant»s estate were demolished nearby (source), and a square was made on Proletarskaya Street (source). Now the space has been expanded into a single recreation area.
