MUP 'Energiya' faces bankruptcy over 100 million ruble debt

MUP «Energiya», which provides heat to the Pashino microdistrict and other areas of Novosibirsk, risks bankruptcy. The lawsuit over a debt of 100 million rubles (approx. $1.1 million at current rates) was filed by the «Iskra» plant.

The municipal enterprise used an industrial boiler house to supply heat to consumers. However, the cost of energy led to significant losses: «Energiya» bought resources at a higher price than it sold them for. Housing and utility tariffs did not permit price increases.
