Convicted killer calls victim's daughter with threats

On the night of 5–6 February last year, a double murder occurred in the settlement of Severny Kommunar in the Perm region. The bodies of an 86-year-old woman and her 52-year-old son were found in an apartment. The killer fled. Police immediately circulated wanted notices for Rustam Altyev. Local residents told 59.RU that Altyev«s girlfriend, Ulyana, had fled from him, and he killed her father and bedridden grandmother out of revenge. After the killings, he went to Perm to look for Ulyana, calling her along the way and threatening her.

Rustam was detained in Perm at a shopping center — a local woman recognized him from the wanted notice and called the police. He was sentenced to 22 years in a penal colony.

A few days ago, Ulyana herself contacted us and said that Rustam had called her with threats. The young woman fears for herself and the life of her four-year-old son. She also fears that other relatives — her mother and second grandmother — could be harmed. We spoke with her.

He made breakfast every morning

Ulyana is originally from the settlement of Severny Kommunar in the Sivinsky district. She is raising her four-year-old son alone. In August 2024, Ulyana met Rustam Altyev.

“He drove a taxi. It turned out that my father had known him since childhood. Rustam went to our local school, and since I«m younger, I didn»t remember him from those years,” Ulyana said. “His mother and stepfather lived in the settlement. Rustam would periodically drive past our house and greet my father. That«s how we started talking. And my child started reaching out to him, asking for rides in the car.”

At that time, Rustam had returned from the front line of the war in Ukraine: he had received a minor wound, the shrapnel was successfully removed, leaving a scar.

Some time later, Rustam himself admitted to Ulyana that he had served a prison sentence. An archived report by the Vetta TV channel describes in detail the crime Rustam Altyev committed. In 2013–2014, he and his accomplice Viktor Polyansky engaged in robbery. They would pick up intoxicated passengers, beat them — even girls — and then take their money and valuables.

The accomplices were arrested in 2014. In addition to the robberies, the then 25-year-old Altyev was charged with raping a 16-year-old girl in 2013. In an interview from the courtroom, Altyev told the TV journalist that the sex was consensual.

“I«ve had as many girls as all the investigators have hairs on their heads put together,” Altyev boasted on camera.

For seven robberies, three counts of theft, one burglary, and rape, Altyev was sentenced to 8.5 years in a penal colony. In the courtroom, he asked the TV journalist to pass a threat to the investigators.

“Let them buy themselves stronger helmets by the time we«re released! I»ve already written to them — to the captain of justice, to everyone! This is not a threat, it«s a warning,” Altyev said.

Ulyana«s new partner told her all this in a different light. He claimed that he had been “set up.”

“He put on such a mask, he really played on pity,” Ulyana recalled. “I didn«t know at first what kind of person he was. But from his words, it was completely different — that it was all slander. What also won me over was that he confessed himself.”

Ulyana says that for a month and a half, Rustam was ideal. He got up at five in the morning and made her breakfast.

“I looked at him and thought: what a golden man,” the young woman shares. “But after a month and a half, he seemed to have been switched — he simply became a completely different person.”

“Think about the lives of people”

The situation escalated when the couple moved to Perm. There, Rustam rented an apartment and continued working as a taxi driver.

“For literally a week, everything was fine. And then his true nature began to spill out,” Ulyana says. “He started being jealous of me of absolutely everyone, even the neighbors. Before that, his ex-wife told me that he had driven her to breakdowns, and she drank antidepressants. I couldn«t bear Rustam»s attacks and decided to flee to my home settlement. Literally just run away.”

After some time, Rustam came to Severny Kommunar and showed up at Ulyana«s. Her family lived in a two-story house. On the second floor — Ulyana herself with her son, and on the first — her father with the 86-year-old grandmother. She could barely walk, only able to reach the toilet and kitchen holding onto the walls; she never went outside at all.

“I essentially bought that apartment specifically to care for my grandmother, to go down to her, so everything would be close by,” Ulyana recalls.

Rustam asked to stay with the young woman, saying he had wrecked his car in Perm, which he had rented for taxi work. He promised he would soon find a job and even go to a rotation shift.

“He said: «I»m in a bind. I need to buy a car now and I have nowhere to live,«” Ulyana recalls. “I agreed and let him stay temporarily, even though his mother lived in the settlement. Four months passed, and he still had no job. Rustam drank. When he was sober, everything was fine, but drunk he became aggressive. He started lecturing my son, even though he was only three years old, wanting to raise him »like a man.« I asked him not to touch the child. In short, we started arguing over this. And in January, Rustam wounded my father in the leg with an axe. I knew it, but my father wouldn»t admit it. I quietly tried to talk to him alone in his room, but he just lay there, silent, pretending everything was fine.”

In January 2025, Rustam managed to get a job at a sawmill in the neighboring village of Mendeleevo. He worked there for exactly three days — until 31 January.

“Something clicked in his head again. He started accusing me of cheating. One day he showed up wild-eyed and already drunk,” Ulyana recalls. “I understood: that«s it, I»m completely done with this person. I decided to flee with my child. I packed my things and left for Perm. He started calling: «Forgive me, yes, I»ve realized everything.« I said: just leave my house, just lock up and leave, go live with your mother, anywhere. I was clearly kicking him out. The next day he came to Perm to look for me.”

Ulyana avoided meeting Rustam and told him by phone that she would not return. On 4 February, he was already threatening her.

“He said that if I didn«t come back, I would regret it. He said: »If you don«t think about yourself, think about the lives of the Fabrika people,»” Ulyana says — “Fabrika” is what we call our settlement instead of Severny Kommunar, even though the factory closed long ago. “After those words, I blocked his number. On the morning of 6 February, he called from another number and said: «I did something that can»t be undone, and I won«t ask forgiveness for it.» I said to him: «Did you kill someone?» He was like: «Oh no, what are you talking about.»”

After that, the young woman started calling her father, but he didn«t answer. Ulyana got very scared and reached a neighbor. The woman said that Ulyana»s house was locked.

The young woman called the police; officers broke the lock and found her father«s body in a chest. The grandmother was not found immediately. Her body lay at the bottom of the chest under her son»s body.

“He just killed them and put them in the chest on top of each other. He washed everything there, washed all the blood away,” the young woman says. “He struck with a hammer and scissors. I still don«t know all the details because I couldn»t finish reading the criminal case file.”

New threats: “Why are you calling, you tramp”

While Rustam was being sought, Ulyana learned from an acquaintance that she had seen him running away from their house on the day of the tragedy. That testimony was also included in the criminal case.

While on the run, Rustam continued calling Ulyana.

“He said, like, you«re next,” Ulyana recalls. “He called from several numbers all day. He threatened: »Get in touch with me, your mother is still alive, don«t forget.» All this was also recorded on a dictaphone, all attached to the case. After that call, after the direct threat, I was placed under state protection for six months.”

The fugitive Rustam was detained on 7 February at a shopping center in Perm. A female mall visitor recognized him from the wanted notice circulated by police. The woman called the police.

The trial of Rustam Altyev lasted until May 2026. For the double murder, he was sentenced to 22 years in a penal colony, the first five of which he must serve in prison, where conditions are stricter. The verdict came into force on 15 May 2026.

Three months later, on 25 July, Ulyana received a call from an unknown number.

“I picked up, and a male voice said: «Hello.» I was taken aback and asked: «Who is this?» He said: «It»s the one you«ve been poisoning all this time,»” Ulyana realized it was Rustam calling. “Then I hung up. I called the investigators, they didn«t believe it at first and asked me to send the caller»s number. I copied the number, but the phone is a touchscreen, and I accidentally called him. I hung up immediately. And he immediately sent a message: «Why are you calling, you tramp?»”

Rustam continued calling the young woman, but she didn«t answer. Then he recorded the following voice message for her: “Hello to my beloved common-law wife. We»ll be back soon” (a recording of the call is available to the editorial team).

“And then my acquaintance, who testified that she had seen Rustam near our house, sent me a screenshot,” Ulyana continues. “Rustam invited her husband to a chat on VKontakte and wrote to him: «Your wife called me a liar. Let her guess where the “liar” is now.» And then the next message: 22 and a smiley. Like, he got 22 years. Rustam called again, I didn«t pick up. The investigators told me not to contact him at all.”

Ulyana is now frightened. She worries about her family and perceives her former partner«s words as a real threat to life. The young woman suspects that Rustam may have gone to fight in Ukraine. Meanwhile, law enforcement officials told her that prison is a stricter form of confinement for convicted persons, from which it is impossible to sign a contract. Perhaps the convict managed to obtain a phone and make these calls.

“That is, it«s a punishment cell, as they explained to me, and from that regime for especially dangerous criminals, no one leaves,” the young woman says. “I have now filed a statement with the district police officer and the military prosecutor»s office.”
