Moscow residents tracked transport 13 million times via QR codes

Moscow residents are increasingly using modern digital services to plan their trips. As reported by Moscow Deputy Mayor for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov, in 2025 alone, passengers used the transport tracking function via QR codes at stops nearly 13 million times. This indicator showed significant growth — 40% compared to the previous year.

To find out where the needed bus, electric bus, or tram is, as well as its arrival time, it is enough to point a smartphone camera at the QR code. The information is located on the stop pavilion. The link automatically redirects the user to the «Moscow Transport» app, and no additional programs or registration are required to access the data.
«We continue to improve the quality of passenger service, as instructed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin,» noted Maxim Liksutov.
Navigation QR codes are already available at 12 thousand stop pavilions across the city. Thus, digitalization is making ground transport more predictable and convenient for millions of capital residents.
