In Perm Krai, new telecom equipment has been installed along highways. For the first time, coverage has appeared on several routes in the region: the Chaykovsky — Kambarka road near the village of Oralki, Ostróżka — Pikhtovka, Kueda — Bolshaya Usa near the settlement of Okulov and the village of Maly Dubrovnik, Perm — Polazna and Polazna — Berezniki near the village of Yarino. The length of the sections where stable signal is now available ranges from 3 to 4.5 kilometers.

Overall, coverage has been established on more than 21 kilometers of routes. With the new infrastructure, demand for mobile services on the go has only increased. According to telecom operators, since the beginning of the year, the volume of mobile internet downloaded on these road sections has reached about 8 TB, equivalent to 13,000 minutes of video calls. Voice traffic has exceeded 36,000 minutes of conversations.

The new telecom equipment was installed under a state contract ordered by the Ministry of Information Development and Communications of Perm Krai.

— A stable mobile signal on the region«s roads is an important element of safety. Together with the Ministry of Information Development and Communications of Perm Krai, we are consistently expanding the coverage area along the region»s main highways. Over the past few years, mobile internet has covered over 100 kilometers of roads, — said Andrey Shmalev, director of MegaFon in Perm Krai.

Now, drivers and passengers can use navigation apps and stay connected. Digital services are also available to residents of nearby settlements.

The development of telecommunication infrastructure was also noted by the governor of Perm Krai, Dmitry Makhonin. According to him, much has been accomplished over the past five years with the support of the national projects «Digital Economy» and «Data Economy».

— We have fully fulfilled the president«s instruction and provided modern types of communication to all settlements in the region with a population of over 100 people. Thanks to this, 99.8% of the region»s residents now have access to them. Now it is important to ensure high quality together with telecom operators, — emphasized Dmitry Makhonin.

In 2025, 104 cellular base stations were installed in the region.

— Also, during the period from 2022 to 2025, «white spots» have been eliminated and coverage provided on 28 sections of regional highways. Today, on more than 97% of regional roads, there is the possibility of calling emergency services at 112, operating the «ERA GLONASS» system, and other road telematics, — noted Petr Shilovskikh, Minister of Information Development and Communications of Perm Krai.

In addition, LTE has been launched on a section of the M-12 highway — 15 additional base stations have been built in the Oktyabrsky and Chernushinsky districts of Prikamye.
