Committee for Construction

In 2026, Metrostroy of the Northern Capital plans to launch large-scale work on several metro lines. At a city government meeting on 21 July, the company«s general director, Dmitry Vasilyev, announced the list of tasks for the upcoming period.

  • Complete the boring of a double-track tunnel on the green line and begin earthworks for the construction of the «Bogatyrskaya» and «Kamenka» stations.
  • Tunnel 4.3 km on the brown line section «Putilovskaya» – «Karetnaya» and build two shafts.
  • Bore one tunnel from «Karetnaya» to the future «Ligovsky Prospekt-2» station.
  • Begin preparation of construction sites for the purple line on the section «Komendantsky Prospekt» – «Kolomyazhskaya» together with the depot.
  • Begin preparation of the site for the «Krasnoselskoye» depot.
  • Begin design of the exit of the «Teatralnaya» metro station.

The specific location of the exit from «Teatralnaya» is not indicated in the presentation — the wording says «according to the chosen location». As noted earlier, the site selection has been ongoing for many years and has recently changed again. Initially, the exit was planned to be built on the site of a household services building on Lermontovsky Prospekt, then the project was redirected to the territory of the Lesgaft University pool, and later the focus shifted to Temirkanov Square (the other side of Decembrists Street).
