Residents of Orenburg Oblast have started buying goods online more frequently. Since the beginning of the month, traffic on marketplaces has increased by 26% compared to last year. Moreover, men have become the most engaged in selecting products. Analysts from MegaFon reached this conclusion after studying anonymized data from online users.

January 1st was the «quietest» day for virtual purchases. The authors of the study attribute this to the fact that city residents« desire to fill their carts gave way to walks and meetings with loved ones. However, by the end of the New Year holidays, Orenburg residents began visiting online stores more often. The most popular days for shopping turned out to be the first working weekdays — January 12th and 13th.

«Online shopping has become part of the daily life of Orenburg residents. To make selecting the right goods comfortable even during peak hours, we are systematically strengthening the network in the region. For example, in the last stage, we expanded the communication infrastructure in Orsk. New communication facilities have appeared on Podolskaya, Przhevalsky, Tobolskaya, Bratskaya, Olimpiyskaya, and other streets. The work also covered the private sector. Thanks to this, even more subscribers are solving their daily tasks without leaving home,» said Pavel Botnar, head of the technical service of the operator in Orenburg Oblast.

The authors of the study also reported that the main audience of online stores in the first weeks of January was residents of the region aged 35–44. They accounted for 36% of all visits. Another 25% were provided by people aged 45–54, and 16% were formed by the operator«s subscribers aged 25 to 34. Men used 7% more traffic than women: this may indicate that they require more time to study the assortment.
