Lipetsk Mayor Assesses Tram Line Reconstruction

Track-laying readiness currently stands at 71%. Contractors need to accelerate the pace, as just over a month remains before launch. Particular attention is being paid to rerouting utility networks, including gas lines.

«The pace must be increased. There are issues with rerouting utility networks, primarily with the gas services. We addressed all problem areas on-site and set specific deadlines and assigned responsible parties for each. It»s crucial to make decisions quickly now—there«s no time for delays,» Lipetsk Mayor Mikhail Shcherbakov wrote in the MAX messenger.

Two weeks before launch, according to the schedule, line testing—one of the key stages—will begin. The city head has tasked restoring tram service on the section from the 9th microdistrict circle to the Central Market already in September. Additionally, from Friday through Monday, the tram crossing on Tsiolkovsky Street near the regional dental clinic will be fully closed for continued reconstruction. Motorists are asked to account for these changes in advance when planning routes.

«Such projects require coordinated work from all participants. It»s crucial now that everyone fulfills their obligations with quality and exactly on time. Lipetsk residents are waiting for the tram«s return, and we must justify that expectation,» summed up the meeting Mikhail Shcherbakov.
