Kurgan to Install 19-Meter Labor Valor Stele

In Kurgan, near the Central Park of Culture and Recreation (TsPKiO) and the future «Tree of Life» recreation area at 34 Kareltseva Street, a «City of Labor Valor» stele will be installed. According to the government procurement website Goszakupki, the initial cost of the work is 48.5 million rubles (approximately $510,500 at current rates). Per the technical specification, the stele will consist of a main vertical cone-shaped pillar 19.5 meters high and two informational pylons on the sides.

The frame of the tall section will be made of stainless steel, with glass bearing the engraved coat of arms of the city of Kurgan at the top. On the reverse side, at the bottom of the glass, a copy of the Russian president«s decree awarding the »City of Labor Valor« title will be engraved.

The side pylons will feature images dedicated to the city«s labor history, including the years of the Great Patriotic War (World War II). The contractor will also install lighting. The warranty period for the completed work will be five years.

The stele will feature the city«s coat of arms and the award decree.

The customer for the installation of the art object is the Municipal Institution «Department of Road Facilities and Improvement of the City of Kurgan.» The contractor must complete the installation of the stele no later than December 1, 2026. Applications are currently being accepted. The search for a contractor will end on July 28.
