Kordon.Pro Records 4,569 Speeding Violations in Novgorod Oblast

Mobile video recording systems Kordon.Pro began being used on roads in Novgorod Oblast in 2025. The devices are installed in the trunks of patrol cars and allow automatic measurement of other road users« speed while moving, recording violations without stopping the patrol vehicle, and also continuously video-record the traffic situation.

The system can detect many traffic rule violations, including speeding, driving into oncoming traffic, running a red light, violating stop and parking rules, improper use of lights, unbuckled seat belts, talking on a mobile phone while driving, and others. In 2026, using Kordon.Pro, 4,569 cases of exceeding the speed limit were recorded.

Head of the regional State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (Gosavtoinspektsiya) Viktor Gavrilov noted: «Compliance with traffic rules is now controlled not pointwise (in stationary camera zones), but continuously — depending on the driver«s actual behavior along the entire route. In 2026, work will continue to equip district units of the region with such systems. This will allow identifying dangerous drivers without stopping vehicles.»
